Size Guide
Need a cover but unsure of the size?
Tarpaulins are measured in two dimensions (length x width). When covering a three-dimensional object, it’s essential to measure all dimensions and account for the total area to ensure the right fit.
It’s also important to remember that unless specified as a “finished size,” the dimensions provided refer to the “cut size” of the sheet before it is hemmed and eyeleted. This means the final size could be up to 30 cm smaller than listed. If your project requires exact dimensions, consider selecting a larger size to accommodate this potential reduction.
Some of our ranges are produced to finished size, where any tolerance will be minimal.
All tarpaulins, except for our Canvas options, are cut using metric measurements (in meters), with imperial sizes (in feet) provided as approximate conversions.
Which grade is right for you?
Tarpaulins are graded by GSM (Grams per Square Meter), which indicates the weight of the material used. Our selection ranges from 80gsm to 560gsm.
While we can’t guarantee the lifespan of any product due to the wide range of applications, generally, the heavier the GSM, the more durable the tarp.
When selecting a tarpaulin, consider its intended use and the weather conditions it will face. For instance, if you’re covering a roof for an extended period, opting for a heavier duty tarp will likely provide better durability compared to a lighter economy sheet.
